We picked the wrong database.
The concurrency model was right and the axis was wrong. D1 held write locks for two to five seconds every two minutes, and signups failed inside that window.

An agent gets no special path.
There is no API tier. Row-level security is the authorisation boundary for a phone and for an agent alike, which is what made an agent interface cheap to add.
Most crash reports are noise.
Stack-frame fingerprinting, launch-flood rate limiting and a sustained campaign to reclassify platform noise as non-fatal. One fix closed 185 reports at once.
